For years unknown dark hidden secrets have blocked out Josphen's childhood memories. This in turn has kept Josphen’s body in a state, where he had been incapable of verbally communicating with others. While a real life nightmare of being in and out of mental institutions, combining with no family or friends there to talk to him have haunted his mind, as a few doctors, within the medical profession, have classified Josphen as being below intelligence.

Yet, in Josphen's mind, he was able to carry out Algebra and speak in numerous languages. However, not once had he been able to break through this immense barrier that had blocked out his past memories, which was hidden deep within his mind.

Now, as he entered into his late autumn years, and his body had played a further cruel joke on him, imprisoning him in a hospital bed. Then when all hope seemed to have been lost in Josphen's mind, the door that locked away innocence lost from long ago in his life, was flung opened. At that moment, Josphen witnessed the hidden secrets and horrors of his past childhood. Almost immediately, Josphen was taken back to a time when he was a Polish Jewish child, growing up in Warsaw Poland, during the thirties. Slowly, Josphen confronts the horrific events that had caused him to seal up his childhood memories, with innocence lost for most of his life. Through it all, Josphen finds out his real name was Mitzi, and at first he was hidden from the Germans and the Holocaust. Only to be captured and forced to live through the horrific deadly life in Auschwitz.
